Luxury vinyl plank is a tough, long-lasting, and easy to clean flooring material, perfect for parents. And if you think you'll have flooring that shows off an upscale look only when you're an empty-nester, you'll be surprised when you view all the styles that realistically mimic wood, stone, and ceramic flooring.
Wear layer
Luxury vinyl tile has a transparent wear layer that determines the durability of your new floor. A 20-mil stain- and abrasion-resistant wear layer adequately protects the wood or tile image in the busiest areas of your home. This tough, ‘no scrubbing needed’ surface layer can be quickly wiped or mopped when spills occur.
Core layer
The core layer, situated below the image layer, also affects the lifespan of vinyl flooring. The best luxury vinyl flooring brands have a wood plastic composite (WPC) or a stone plastic composite (SPC) core. LVP and LVT flooring with this composition is waterproof and is not damaged even when covered in water for a lengthy time.
EIR brands
Some luxury vinyl flooring is embossed to create a textured effect that makes planks and tiles feel like the materials they simulate. Textured LVP is particularly popular. You have a choice between two types of textured planks.
- Embossing is applied randomly to standard textured brands.
- Embossed in Register brands feature texturing aligned with the plank's wood grain pattern.
